Gov2u partnership agreement with the Centre for Research on Direct Democracy (c2d).

c2dFls-bigWe are happy to announce that Gov2u has entered into a new partnership agreement with the Centre for Research on Direct Democracy of Zurich University. The two organizations have identified a number of areas for collaboration, namely:

Research:
Qualitative and quantitative analysis of eDemocracy/eParticipation experiments:

  • review of relevant policy and social theories;
  • development of guidelines and methodologies for measurement of user satisfaction and success in eDemocracy experiments;
  • comparative evaluation of experiments in countries/regions beyond Europe i.e. USA, Africa, Latin America;
Implementation:
  • definition and analysis of user requirements;
  • customization and development of online eParticpation platforms and modules based on the Gov2demoss prototype;
  • technical evaluation and assessment of online tools;
  • semantics, meaning and context management for virtual communities, such as e-citizen communities;
Awareness – Dissemination:
  • organization – participation in workshops, conferences etc.;
  • organization of offline and online awareness campaigns;
  • collaboration with media, with scientific, industrial and political communities, and the general public within the European Research Area (ERA);
  • Interaction with the EU and international community;
  • Publications in the areas of eDemocracy, eParticpation, eInclusion and the Digital Divide;
The c2d is an academic research center dedicated to the study of direct democratic institutions (referendum and initiative) around the world, their history, legal nature, functioning and political implications. It aims at running an international database, promoting interdisciplinary scientific research, organising conferences and providing services.

The c2d is an independent department of the Zentrum für Demokratie Aarau (ZDA) and an Associate Institute of the University of Zurich attached to the Law School.
