PREVE project

g_and_g

PREVE is a Support Action project, funded under the FP7 4th ICT Call, not aiming to the development of actual solutions, but to perform a deep study in the main dimensions that could be of importance for the creation of innovative Personal Health System (PHS) in primary prevention and, as a result, to propose the necessary ICT research directions that would be needed in building efficient and sustainable IT based services for primary prevention.

The lead idea of PREVE is "having the individual as a co-producer of health" and empowering individuals to take responsibility of their health with personalized ICT enabled PHS technologies and services. Therefore the project paves the way for a health service environment where individuals and health professionals work jointly towards health goals.

Grandparents & Grandchildren

g_and_g

The project, supported by local authorities, associations and public and private organizations, is addressed to people aged over 55. It is intended, through the involvement of students of VET or upper secondary schools in the role of volunteer “digital facilitators”, to teach internet browsing and e-mail use to the elders, fostering thus their active digital citizenship role.

The main goal is to exploit and transfer at European level a low cost methodology of intergenerational involvement aimed to increase adult digital literacy promotion.

The general objective of the partnership is to contrast digital divide and to develop inter generational dialogue through a friendly and simple approach in teaching internet browsing to elderly people.

REPORTNET

REPORTNET is a pan-European project in the field of eGovernment. It is a system of integrated IT tools and business processes creating a shared information infrastructure optimized to support the European Environment Agency (EEA) reporting obligations; the system responds to the demand of quality environmental data to be provided by all member states with minimal efforts.

The EU international bodies have in fact agreed on a series of reporting obligations which make the dataflow very complex; the lack of common and harmonized protocols and system between the Member States has resulted, in several occasions, in the production of duplicate data provided with different exchange format depending on the national repositories. Information is needed on issues such as the causes of pollution, the status of bio- diversity, the environmental performance of sectors and the effectiveness of actions. Such information is used to describe trends and model futures, thereby helping countries and European institutions to formulate more effective policies.

In this context, scope of the Reportnet tool is the simplification and harmonization of the data flow, which has become very complex, achieved by covering all concerned activities, from definition of the data that reporters need to produce, till the generation of the final products such as EEA published reports and core set of environmental indicators. This goal implies, from one side, the possibility from the Member States to access transparent updated and reliable environmental data and from the other the definition and creation of common tools and infrastructure for the collection and sharing of those data. This principle is shortly described by ‘Deliver-once-use-by-many’.

eCitizen 2.0

eCitizenThe eCitizen 2.0 project funded by the InterReg IV Call officially kicked off on the 16th of February in Tampere, Finland. eCitizen 2.0 is a follow up of Interreg 3C funded Challenge of eCitizen (2005-2007) which promoted interregional collaboration on eGovernment development. eCitizen 2.0 led by the Baltic Institute of Finland brings together 11 Local Authorities from four regions of Europe to stimulate new Web 2.0-inspired approaches to citizen-centred and driven service delivery.

Over the next three years partners will regularly meet in joint seminars to discuss key issues, challenges and opportunities in eParticipation and will explore the designated sub-themes for the end-of-project online manual on eParticipation. Partners will also be exposed to state-of-the-art development in eGovernment on their Study Tours across Europe. The project is designed to enhance direct collaboration and peer learning between more and less experience project partners.
