Gov2u presents STORK: One Step Closer to the EU’s Digital Single Market

Secure Identity Across Borders Linked

STORK, to which Gov2u is a proud partner, is a large scale project launched in May 2008 in the objective of establishing EU-wide interoperability of electronic identities (eIDs).

STORK offers an interoperable and sustainable eID authentication platform, enabling easier access to online public services across borders for citizens in EU Member States.

By developing and testing common specifications for mutual recognition of national electronic identity (eID) between the STORK participating countries and achieve their acceptance in many different pilot applications, STORK effectively brings the EU one step closer to a digital single market.

Now that the project comes at its end, STORK invites its stakeholders to the 5th and final Industry Group Meeting in Poznan, Poland on Wednesday 16th November 2011 to reveal its long-term industry benefits.

Attendees of the meeting will be provided with an update on the achievements of the six STORK pilot projects and presented with demonstrations of three live pilots - Change of AddressStudent Mobility and ECAS Integration – that facilitate cross-border eID services. They will also learn about examples of implementations beyond pilots that demonstrate the reliability and sustainability of the STORK solution in to the future.

Our Executive Director, and STORK’s Communication and Sustainability leader, Vasilis Koulolias states: "The STORK project has successfully united 18 countries and a total of 35 consortium partners from across the public and private sector in its goal to creating a truly interoperable, reliable and sustainable solution for the cross-border use of national electronic identities."

"At this 5th STORK Industry Group meeting it is important that all industry stakeholders attend and learn about the progress the STORK project has made in achieving a sustainable, robust, transparent, safe to us and scalable solution to bring the EU one step closer to a digital single market as the EU Digital Agenda mentions".

The STORK Industry Group Meeting will take place on Wednesday 16th November 2011, between 14:00 and 17:00 at the Poznan International Fair.
